The trading systems you use can help you in finding both values for specific stocks or market as a whole. A wise method to determine the price trend of individual stocks is to compare the price changes in different markets, like Nasdaq, NYSE and S&P 500. The changes in trading volume in the same market or between markets for a period of time also provide a brief idea about the future market trend.
